I do not think it is her not wanting to be active because she will dance and be active on her own. I think this ties into her social development. I think when she is forced to dance or move on her own with everyone else she gets shy. I think it is because she does not want to be watched. During whole group time, she is moving around on the floor. The class is listening to a story or going over the morning message when Student A is moving. However, I think her social development has grown. She is now singing and participating in morning songs that involve hand motions while sitting on the floor. She is also talking and playing with friends on the playground outside. Then with me, her socializing has grown. She used to smile and run away from me. Now she talks and interacts with me. We have had conversations, read books, and played on the playground together. I think the most important focus for Student A would be social skills. She needs the warm and welcoming environment to feel comfortable. However, it has not interfered with her learning because her cognitive and physical developments are above average.
