Re: The taxability of meal vouchers furnished by CJ Hospital to its medical staff Facts The facts are stipulated as follows; CJ hospital has a cafeteria that closes at 8:00 pm and a privately owned sandwich shop, Subway operating 24 hours on its premises. The hospital provides meal vouchers to all its 240 medical employees to be redeemed at the cafeteria or Subway. This voucher is meant to be used when the employees are on call in case of an emergency.…
The role and responsibilities of an RN especially with regards to medication administration, hold great significance as they coincide with legislations and codes. According to the discussed documents, Jo’s lack of competence was evident as demonstrated through her medication error, she had an inability to keep to her scope of practice and also to the medication management system created in the residential aged facility. Jo did not practice ethical nursing as the ethical issues that arose in this scenario were not dealt with correctly; she did not ask for help when she needed it, nor did she show respect to her colleague’s (the prescribers) role when she took on the role of the prescriber herself. Neither did she demonstrate the important values…
After one week break, week eight, we had to return to the clinical placement, Shalom Manor. Before the break I was on the fourth floor for seven weeks, it took me a couple of weeks to get used to the residents what their likes and dislikes; especially with their seating arrangement in the dining room. Every resident has specific sites that they sit every time they enter the dining room. The reason they sit in the same seat, I believe there would not be confusion with their meal. For example, some table has regular texture diet and another table has a modification in their diet due to different types of health problems.…
Reporting party (RP) Residents were not being awakened for meals if the residents are asleep during meals the caregivers don't wake them. There is no food provided for the residents once they wake. He is removed from the dining area sent to his room and not served food.…
The Miami VA Healthcare System has an advanced food production system. The Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) uses a cook-chill system using a blast chiller. Meals are prepared three days in advance and kept at a food bank. For instance, the meals that will be served on Monday are prepared on Friday. The food bank has all meals separated by breakfast, lunch and dinner, and all containers are clearly labeled with the product name and use by date.…

Each scenario in the video provides an example of a violation of the HIPAA Privacy Rule, which was established to protect a patient’s health information while allowing the flow of information needed to provide the highest quality of care to the patient. Scenario 1 The two medical professionals are discussing protected health information in a public area without regard to the other persons in the area. The citizen walking behind the two professionals realized that they were discussing and mocking her mother. Not only is what the two medical professionals did a violation of HIPAA laws, it is also highly unprofessional and unethical.…
I can definitely see how the issues in the case study can affect the afternoon staff and the overall function of the unit. These interruptions can make things not go as smoothly as one would like. For one, if the residents are not happy with the food they have to eat they may not eat at all. This could be dangerous to them if they are not eating. This issue could also make the residents uncompliant with other aspects of their care like taking their medications and participating with their scheduled therapies.…
It was a lovely day and I was able to attend the unit meeting. Our care manager discussed a lot of pertinent information that can improve the quality of care that we are giving to the residents in the unit. She emphasised about the completion of short term care plans, bowel book and incident forms. She also reminded the staff regarding the incoming staff auditing, infection control policies, management of outbreak and confidentiality of the residents. In addition, she informed all the staff to keep the medicine cupboards locked at all times, avoid overfilling the white bags and be aware of the toileting needs of the residents.…
There is a discrepancy when a room cannot be used in the way it was designed. The Fireside room, for example, is meant for community gathering, but, when it is occupied by interlopers, that purpose is unattainable. Based on extended observation of this space, vagabond Spring Arbor couples are the prime culprits of this defilement with their displays of affection whilst in the area. In particular, there is a couch within the room that attracts said couples and causes the whole room to be unavailable to any platonic company. The intent of this space is utterly disregarded and is exploited as a “public bedroom” instead of a “public lounge.”…

Trevor Shelden Ms. Forrestal Consciousness of the Self 10/6/14 From a Room Without a View to a Room With One In E.M. Forster 's novel A Room with a View, transformation and change not only plays a large role in the life of the protagonist Lucy Honeychurch, but with many of the other main individuals in this classic old fashion story. Change occurs in various forms for many different characters in this book, such as personal discovery, coming of age, moving to and from countries, and falling in love. Even though the story starts and ends in exactly the same location, a small hotel room in Florence, Italy. What ends up happening between the opening and closing chapters is a series of actions Lucy takes in order for her to be independent.…
According to the Institute of Medicine (IOM), one of the key recommendations for structural change in the health care profession is “Nurses should achieve higher levels of education and training through an improved education system that promotes seamless academic progression (The Future of, 2010). In my opinion this should be one of the highest priorities for Registered Nurses (RN). As nursing continuously evolves the practice of nursing continues to change as well. During these times we are faced with more critically ill patients as well as a faster growing population of ill patients. The elderly are living longer than they did 20 years ago and their comorbidities make their care challenging.…
In this assessment I will compare and contrast between a Nurse and a Dietitian. The role of the Nurse varies with the needs of the patients, the Nurse credentials. And type of employment setting. A registered Nurse (RN) assesses a patient’s health and promote wellness. The choice of personnel for particular patients depends on the needs of the patients, Health teams commonly include the Nurse and some or all personnel that follow.…
