Based on my observation, I believe Mrs. Laura was the expertise and Mrs. Jan was the novice. Mrs. Laura was able to think in a larger, more meaningful pattern. When it came to teaching reading, Mrs. Laura was able to take the book and create different activities for the children to learn. She made it fun for the children to learn. When she created the different activities, she was able to target different goals such as spelling.…

Initially the Vineisha denied being in the room and refused to come from behind the door.…
CCIB Perryman-French received a call from Keyanna, her daughter Brooke White (DOB 09/04/10) attended this program over the summer. Keyanna works at another pre-school program and started to notice things that she knew were violations of regulations. After Keyanna signed her daughter into the program, she walked her daughter into the first classroom on the right past the office (usually before 730-8 am). There would be children there eating breakfast (various ages, including second and third grade children) and the teacher was not in the room. She asked a child who said the teacher was down the hall opening classrooms.…

The first observation I did was at the Esmelda daycare, this daycare is a family daycare there the woman and husband showed me what they did every day they said that the toddler had hours for everything like what time they eat, how much time they had to play. Esmelda daycare promote language through play time she has book that help the toddlers learn the different animal or the ABC the woman would read the book to toddler by pointing to animal or letter and saying what it was she would also promote language by playing with the toys like counting how many Lego blocks there is or by saying the color of the toy right now. Esmelda daycare is not fully completed with all the material the toddlers need they are in process, but still not being a fully completed daycare you can see that the women and the husband take really good care of children when I was there as she was taking to me if the children need something she would stop and put attention to what the children need instead of just keep taking to me and ignored the child. Compare to the second observation did where each children age group has his own in Esmelda daycare see has all the children together he also has the toy room apart where they just go play when is play time and can’t go in until is play time again.…
Observation: The YMCA daycare program is very different from Hope. I went back and forth between the two classrooms with children from ages 2 to 4 and I even spent a bit of time in the infant room. I learned more about the different temperaments of the children and how to address them. In addition, I also saw how children three to four years of age did not know how to say what they wanted so they would hit and throw things. I would have to say the biggest thing that I learned today was figuring how to get a positive behavior and not to reinforce a negative behavior.…

I indeed never thought of myself as an advocate until I attended the seminar with Ken J. Jaffe. The seminar was an eye opener for me. While listening to his speech, I realized, that I’ve been advocating all along in the matters that I do on a daily basis; on behalf of the children in my care and the children in the neighborhood. Various times young parents can be frustrated while dropping off or picking up their children which causes them to speak to their child(s) in an inappropriate manner. However, I always find myself intervening on behalf of the child.…
