All of the windows looking into the classrooms and looking outside are my favorite because they provide light, openness, and a sense of connection throughout the whole building. The commons is also a great area. It is large and open for all of the kids to spread out and explore their surroundings, while engaging in gross motor activities, such as going down a slide, riding a tricycle, or jumping on a trampoline.…

Some students were building a tower with blocks and after the teacher called him over to bring a toy, he used his hand to knock down all the foam blocks, the teacher reprimanded him, then he came back and started to used both of his hands to pick up large blocks in order to rebuild using the large foam blocks. He started playing with this ring toy where he stabilized the base and used the fingers of his other hands (finger and thumb) to remove the rings, which could be seen as building early. I noticed the child using one hand to hold on the paper he was coloring, and then using the color with the other hand to make scribbles. The color was like a combination of a color pencil as well as crayon.…

An issue in developmental psychology that is a common topic of research is the question of whether or not the testimony of young children can be trusted. Can they recognize perpetrators or even remember events accurately? The answers to these questions should inform how children are questioned as eyewitnesses in the courtroom, and since many people aren’t as educated in this topic, it important for a policy to be implemented to ensure that findings from recent research are being used to effectively utilize children as eyewitnesses. There are three main topics of applicable research that I will discuss in this paper, and they are: use of initial exhaustive recall to avoid retrieval-induced forgetting, eye closure in recalling events, and repeating…
