Observation Main Line Health

Improved Essays
For my first website analysis report, I chose to observe Main Line Health. This is health line near me, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and it is a non-profit organization. Visiting the website for the first time it seems very accessible and usable. The website navigation is pretty straightforward. It takes about 3 seconds to load everything on the web page. A drop-down box pops up and gives you the chance to choose an option whether you are a patient, a doctor, a donor, etc. And then it asks what you are looking for, such as; to find a doctor, make an appointment, make a payment, etc. This is very useful for visitors to the website who don’t really know what they are looking for and it gives them guidelines on how to navigate the webpage. …show more content…
It has a total of five tabs, which is a perfect amount and is easy for the visitor to the webpage to comprehend. The color contrast of the website overall is presentable. The colors aren’t distracting or too much to handle, they are very subtle. There are no disruptive pop-ups and no irrelevant ads. The logo of the Main Line Health is at the top left which is an appropriate spot for it. There is a favicon that is displayed in the URL. The location and company information is very accessible and very clear. The descriptions for each tab are not over worded and have a fitting amount of words. Any tab you access you are can find a magnifying glass in the top right corner that allows you to search anything you would like. If you find yourself on a page, connected to the website, and want to go back to the homepage without searching it in the URL, you can easily access this by clicking on the logo on the top left

This week’s journal entry serves the purpose of analyzing the Mylan healthcare’s website on anaphylaxis, and compare it with best practices for usability, accessibility, credibility, and consistency, as I would if I were a member of a communications department at Mylan healthcare. The web is an important medium of communication as it combines all types of other communication which came before it (Lester, 2012). As other forms of media, the web can also be a valuable resource for information and change, but the effectiveness and success of a website may hinder upon the audience’s perspective of the website. First and foremost a website has to grasp the audience’s attention, and provide content which is interesting, applicable, and befitting for the targeted audience. The Mylan Healthcare Anaphylaxis website’s intent is to bring about awareness of anaphylaxis, and…

In my observation of the Public Health County Director job description, I notice that general structure didn’t start with the summary description until after the minimum qualification. It is not uncommon that patients are discharged early and return to the emergency room with symptoms of leakage after several days. The patient delay that is created has far-reaching consequences, with late leaks (>5 days) being associated with more complex treatment and adverse outcome. It is of upmost importance to treat this complication as early as possible, and thus establish an early diagnosis. Clinical observations could be of more importance in speeding up this process.…

After reading this week’s content I feel as if the Simplified Casual Web Model best explained my understanding of health. In addition, to my company’s efforts to increase the health of its employees. I have had the opportunity to interact with hundreds of Medicare, Medicaid recipients’ as well as to see directly their claims data. That the simplified casual Web Model made sense to me it all fit in like puzzle pieces. For with our low income subsidy and Medicaid members it is difficult for them to manage any chronic conditions that they have acquired from their inability to secure proper medical care early on whether it was from lack of education and not have the means to financially obtain the care the needed or was it as simple as not have…

Working in the ER to save a life may sound a bit cliche, “But when you can really save a life that is worth saving what I mean of worth saving is that the person will have a good outcome.…

There are many different audiences that we are trying to attract towards the “Spring Into Health” event. One of the most specific groups we are striving to get in touch with are the commuters of the surrounding communities. Due to the event being held on a Sunday, persuading commuters to participate will be one of the most important aspects of the event. Another group we are attempting to reach are people that want to learn more about their health or that are interested in learning tips in regards to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Also, although they would be a smaller sized population, I would have to say health professionals that are trying to make connections with other professionals to better their business or practice are our last target audience.…
