Today, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) hosted a campus picnic which was a BBQ at the Bailey Alumni and Friends Center. The campus picnic was catered by the Whole Hog Cafe, many people showed up which included; students, professors/instructors, chancellors, and etc to enjoy the free food. The Little Rock Trojans Athletes helped out with the picnic by serving food and drinks. The Whole Hog Cafe catered BBQ sandwiches, potato salad, cookies, and etc. I have never tried Whole Hog Cafe, but my first experience trying it was really good, I enjoyed it. The Ride 106.7 radio station was also there broadcasting live at the picnic. The Trojan Man was there taking pictures with everyone and enjoying the good food. If you had a bus pass

I had the pleasure of attending the first Asa Gray picnic of the year. The activity was supposed to be held at Utica College’s Rose Garden from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on September thirtieth, but it regrettably was rained out, and the event was instead held in the Donahue Auditorium at the same time and on the same day. I had a lot of fun at this activity, and I look forward to attending more Asa Gray meetings in the future due to this event. After much deliberation on my part, I ultimately decided to participate in this activity because it seemed like fun, and I wanted to meet some of the other science majors. In the beginning, I had no intention of going to the picnic, but my twin sister Skylar is a biology major, so it was mandatory for her…

The observation that I participated in was at the Starbucks Coffee in the Wanek Center. The lighting is dark, especially where everyone is doing homework right outside the Starbucks area. The lighting is the brightest at the back wall where the people are making the Starbucks drinks. The sound is quiet outside the Starbucks area, but loud where people are getting their drinks. The energy is a mixture of people laughing, while having a good time with friends and others look focus while doing homework.…

This can create issues with the students schedule and discourage them to buy locally if a fast food restaurant is more convenient for them. By creating a campus wide farmers market we can assure students will always have the opportunity to buy fresh produce at their convenience. UAB’s undergraduate student government association (USGA) held a small farmers market in September, but they have yet to hold another.…

The most useful fact to put this time in perspective is that Starbucks only owned 55 stores. The term coffee shop was then still synonymous with diner. Fast forward to 2009:…

There are two entrances in the front of the building. The whole store is filled with aisles, making it very easy to navigate around the store. Access is not limited at all, you get the impression that you are supposed to explore inch of every aisles, lest you miss something important.…
