The title 1 setting that I decided to observe was a boys and girls club after school program that is located inside of PS 142. This after school is called P.S 142 The After Three Arts Program. In this program they offer free after school services to the children that goes to PS 142. They offer after school services to students from kindergarten to 5th grade. In this after school they offer several services to the students. The students in After Three Arts Programs are provided with film classes, music, dance, theatre production, homework, stem lessons, and physical activities. This program is a year around program that is available to students. Over the summer the program is open to any one that would like their children in summer camp. During my visit at After Three Arts Program I was placed in two different classrooms. The first classroom was a kindergarten classroom and the second classroom was a second grade classroom. I really enjoyed my visit at this after school.

They were talking to the teacher in Spanish and English therefore, I wanted to double check if they were ELL and they were ELL students. The first SEI strategy that I noticed that the teacher implemented into her lesson was vocabulary and language development. She first started by going over the ABC’s with her students. They sang the ABC’s song and every one was involved. Then after this she read them the book “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” written by Bill Martin and John Archambault. This book was very beneficial to the student because it helps them with their vocabulary development. The story Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is an alphabet book where the alphabets climb up the coconut tree. Reading the students, a book aloud helped all students even the ELL because it helped to provide them with influential context of different word
