To me, obscene is something that is visually explicit, referring to actually watching something that's considered offensive to a large majority. Of course, I am more open to watching/listening to what others would find culturally odd. After being raised in a fairly strict home, I was very naïve and still am on certain topics. However, the play only presents an idea that is not culturally accepted in the modern world. The play's direct focus on incest was disturbing, but not so repulsive that it can't be watched because nothing actually happened. The play was about revealing the acts of Oedipus and there was never an actual sex scene between him and his mother. Because the play lacks anything that would mentally scar the mind, I wouldn't care
