Objective 1: Specific telemedicine software will be selected, and implemented based on the needs of the community and health care system. Needs will be assessed through surveys from patients, providers and members of the healthcare team, one year before implementation of telemedicine.
Rationale
Informatics strategies
-Surveys will be created to be compatible with desktop, tablet-type computer platforms, and hand-held devices.
-Surveys will also be mailed to people in the community as many living in rural areas do not have reliable access to computers or internet service.
Hoyt & Yoshihashi (2014) identify that providers are increasing utilization of mobile and/or tablet-type platforms to complete work related and patient-care tasks.
