Obituary for Friedrich Schmidt Friedrich Schmidt was born in Trossingen, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. His dad is a famous cello player for the Berlin Philharmonic. His mom died when Friedrich was 2 or 3 years old. Friedrich was the conductor for the Empire Philharmonic. Before he became the conductor of the Empire Philharmonic, he had conducted the The Tchaikovsky in Germany. Then Friedrich got the opportunity to move to New York City to conduct the Empire Philharmonic. Going back to Friedrich’s family, Friedrich had an Uncle named Gunter. He was the one who taught Friedrich how to play the harmonica and how to ride a bike. Uncle Gunter also kept Friedrich safe when his father was taken away.
