Obesity Statistics Research Paper

Statistics show the two thirds of adults in US are overweight while one-third are obese. These statistics quite clearly show the increase in obesity as 1 in 20 people suffer from extreme obesity. The overweight percentages show that minorities in the US are suffering from this more than the average people. It has also been noted that different cultures have different nutritional diets and therefore every race has its own obesity statistics. These statistics also show that male adolescents suffer from obesity more than female adolescents. School going children are also being identified as overweight or obese as their diets are severely mismanaged. The boys are also more obese in childhood than females. The statistics show that children who are overweight or obese don’t get the treatment that they need and go on to become obese in their adulthood which increases health risks and decreases their life expectancy. The household culture regarding obesity also needs to change if the parent is overweight or obese than the child will also have increased chance of being overweight or obese.
