In today’s fast-paced society, it is easy to turn to fast food and other quick unhealthy snacks, such as potato chips to satisfy hunger. The number of people making meals at home is decreasing. Restaurants have played an increasing role in the problem of obesity. In an article written by Todd Buchholz, he writes that Americans tend to blame fast food restaurants for their unhealthy eating habits, but that they are not to blame as there are many healthy fast food options. He states that he believes everyone has a choice in what they eat. While that is true to a certain extent, people are more likely to buy choices that are more economical. For example, McDonald’s offers options such as premium salads and grilled chicken sandwiches for between $5 and $8; they also offer a dollar menu in which you can buy a cheeseburger and a drink for $2.
