America is one of the most obese countries in the world, and the reasons are pretty obvious. You have fast food stores in almost every shopping center, block, mall, or even amusement parks. America doesn’t take obesity serious. Although Michelle Obama did try to tackle obesity with the play 60 program.(www.letsmove.gov) It was not enough to stop kids from craving fast foods. Parents need to be more strict on their kids eating habits. Kids are eating fast food on their way to an event or back home from an event. Or they eat it when no one in their house wants to make dinner. This causes the kids to rely on fast food when they have no time for homemade food. Some might ask, what is the weight range for a person to legally be diagnosed as obese. These different classifications are determined by body mass index (BMI), or a measure of body fat based on your height and weight. Which you must be 203 pounds with a BMI of 30 or higher to be considered obese. (©2016 PublicHealth.org ) Almost 34 percent of American adults are obese. This number has more than doubled the amount of 30 years ago. In my opinion it is because of all that fast food restaurants as i stated before. Are we doing enough to bring these numbers down. That was a prime example of obesity in America. It seems like no one wants to help stop it. There is roughly about 160,000 fast food restaurants in America. And roughly 50,000,000 numbers of Americans served daily. The fast food restaurants make about $110,000,000,000 a year (2016 Statistic Brain Research Institute). That number is ridiculous. Most people couldn 't make that in a lifetime, but the make it just because they sell fast food to people that are too lazy to make their own
