In the United States, obesity is an increasingly problematic public health concern. It is at the top list of major health problems in the United States. About 100 million Americans, which is about one-third of America, are obese. Adults have increased dramatically in recent years. Public health officials and policy makers have been paying close attention to the issue
Do most heads turn towards the cheap hamburger or the expensive salads? Unhealthy eating consists of greasy, processed foods, fast foods, junk foods, and too much caffeine. Availability of healthy food choices play a large role in low-income communities where nutritious foods are expensive and hard to find, while unhealthy fast foods are abundant and inexpensive. Consumption of larger portion sizes and super sizing food portions of high fat and high calorie foods, contribute to the obesity epidemic. People of low pay have a tendency to indulge because of diminished accessibility of nourishment. The increasing rate of obesity is associated with inadequate food supply and hunger among low-income individuals. When people go out to eat, they tend to consume more calories than necessary or eat more than they would at home.
