Childhood Obesity, no matter where you go, it’s there, and it’s becoming too big of an epidemic. Too many people in the world are plagued with the problem. By the end of this presentation, you should have a better understanding of what obesity is, the cause of obesity and why it’s a problem, the solution for obesity, the groups who are fighting the issue, and the end goal that should be reached. Now what is obesity.

Obesity is excessive amount of body fat due to having a genetic and environment factors that are difficult to control when dieting. Now there is a couple things that need to be clarified, the difference between overweight and obese. When one is overweight, they have a Body Mass Index or BMI of 25-29.9. BMI is a measurement of body fat based on height and weight. Obese is having a BMI of 30 or greater. What’s the effect of this problem?

What problems come from this huge issue called obesity? First struggle that comes from this is a long-term health issue. The kind of health problems that follow this disease are heart attacks, diabetes, high cholesterol, and many more. Expensive medical bills. With all the health problems that come with obesity, hospital trips tend to happen more often than none. Limited physical ability. As the child gains weight, their energy level decreases.
