There are countless adds that express the risks of eating unhealthy. School age children are thought dietary intake in simple forms, then as education progress, nutrition education is decreased. By the time person reaches high school their nutrition education is based off their parents and friends’ habits. Articles are printed and shared via social media on the dangers of unhealthy life style choices and how to improve nutrition. However, there is a continued growth in obesity and diseases associated with unhealthy eating. There is not a lack of educational material, rather a lack of implementing the material into education. In my opinion, nutrition must be a compounding and evolving education program that is provided to from childhood to early adult hood. Programs should be implemented that transition from elementary school to college. Nutrition affects people in a differently (citation). The reason restriction may in place in Japan is because of their political standpoint; a constitutional monarchy. Whereas, in America we have democracy. Our values, rights and viewpoints are completely different than Japan. American’s have a rich pride in freedom of choice. This freedom does cause us to overindulge and at times is more harmful than beneficial. However, American remains the land of the free. Implementing, restrictions relation to personal choice goes against the values and freedoms our forefathers fought to obtain from a tyrannical government.
