Being overweight or obese isn't just a cosmetic problem“The fundamental cause of obesity is an energy imbalance between calories consumed and calories expended. (Byrne L.K 2) Obesity is classified as an excessive fat accumulation that presents a high health risk. (Dieticians Association of Australia Childhood obesity 2) Although there are cures and treatment for obesity, it affects adolescent’s mobility, self esteem and internal organs.
Obesity is not only extreme weight, it also causes a lot of lifelong wear and tear on the body. Examples of those would be heart disease,type two diabetes, asthma and, sleep apnea. (Health Risks of Overweight and Obesity)These don't just affect the inside of the body they also affect a person's mobility,self

Sharon Brangman told Reuters Health, that lifestyles have shifted so people are eating more calories than they need and not moving around as much.” (Obesity linked to mobility problems in older women) People today don't exercise as much as they use to. We are enabled because of the advancement in technology, fast foods, lack of exercise, Another major factor is parents don’t inforce healthier foods on their children at a young age,which then leads to a life of poor nutritional choices. That being the number one leading causes of obesity. Lack of mobility limits education,physical activity, and heightens the risk of health problems. Extreme obese people are most likely to have heart disease which can lead to strokes and even death.“This is related to hypoventilation syndrome, which is the production of pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular hypertrophy, dilatation, progressive dysfunction, and finally failure.”(Obesity and Heart disease) Sleep apnea is also very common in obese people, Sleep apnea is when during sleep there is one or more pauses in breathing or shallow breaths. It’s common to see people with this disease have breathing machines at night with them. But when not treated properly it can ba fatal or further damage a person's internal organs leading to a longer road to recovery. If not taken care of properly being overweight can hurt more than just your appearance.
In conclusion, although there are cures and treatment for obesity, it affects adolescent’s mobility, self esteem and internal organs.with proper diets and medical care, obesity can be beat and create a healthy image inside and out is possible if the proper medical steps and procedures are followed. It's not
