The community is divided where the northern side have more access to supermarket stores, restaurant and health care and more while on the southern side of the community the supermarket are almost not in existence there is only one save a lot store. The residents in the community are deprived from essential food items Such as fresh fruits and vegetables that could help them to improve the quality of their life. Although the social economic are different the obesity problem are the same. The population that is at the greatest risk are the adult and elderly. According to the city of Columbus data, 31.6% of Franklin County resident are overweight and 34.2% of Ohioan are overweight. It is essential for the public nurse to assess the population needs and their readiness to accept changes that might affect their daily life in a positive way. The nurse will need to encourage the population to engage in decision making regarding their community, and facilitate opportunities for them to get access to appropriate resources. The role of the public health nurse in the community is to educate the population about health risk prevention, design and implement health education program to decrease health risks within the community. It is vital for Public health nurse to engage in the community. Their intervention is essential for the survival of the population. One and for most their intervention will determine the prevalence rate of occurring diseases such as diabetes, Hypertension, high cholesterol in the community. These diseases are contributing factors to the mortality rate within the obese
