Chronic illnesses and disabilities bear many effects on the deterioration of the body and the mind. The particular chronic disease or disability I have chosen to discuss is obesity. This condition affects millions of Americans and can lead to all sorts of other illnesses and diseases. Two resources in my community in Miami that addresses issues related to obesity is the “Miami Counseling and Resource Center” and “Touch Broward.” They both provide counseling, therapy, and have nutritionists available to help combat obesity with services rendered to both children and adult to help fight obesity by changing lifestyles, and challenges that are responsible for obesity.
