According to Lets Move! an initiative focused on solving obesity in kids created by the First Lady Michelle Obama “many children consume at least half of their meals at school, and for many children, food served at school may be the only food they regularly eat” (Healthy Schools). In support of Let’s Move! many organizations such as the Chef Ann Foundation, National Fruit and Vegetable Alliance, and Whole Foods Market created an organization called Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools with the primary focus of providing healthy eating opportunities for kids in schools. This organization launched in 2010 and according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention report in 2013, the “rate of obesity among young, low-income children appears to be declining.
