In David Zinczenko’s article called “Don’t Blame the Eater”, Zinczenko is suggesting that people are quick to blame the fast food restaurants for making them obese. He questions his readers, “Whatever happened to personal responsibility?” (Zinczenko 462). Majority of American citizens would agree that the harmful health effects of eating large quantities of fast food are well known. Yet people still continue to ignore the effects and be irresponsible by blaming the fast food companies for making them overweight. Zinczenko states, “Shouldn’t we know better than to eat two meals a day in fast food restaurants?”, he goes on and add, “I say, let the deep fried chips fall where they may.” (Zinczenko 463, 464). Anyone who are aware of the harmful health effects of fast foods should agree with Zinczenko that people should obviously already be apprised and be responsible enough not to consume fast foods on a daily. It is not McDonald’s job to tell people what they should be eating or should not be eating.
