“Obama’s Deal” is an intriguing video giving many unknown details of the launch and rise of Barack Obama’s presidency. Obama knew from the beginning that being elected the president of the United States would be an intricate endeavor for many reasons. But what made Barack Obama stand out? What made him the preeminent democratic candidate? Obama was, without a doubt, a force to be reckoned with, which was clearly shown when he decided to follow through with and idea that he aspired to accomplish. He wanted to promote and reform national healthcare. While some were completely on board with the idea of adjustments to national healthcare, others were quite skeptical thinking of how grueling, and even impossible, the task would be. Obama obviously knew of Clinton’s previous attempt of enacting national healthcare, yet continued to push for it. He spent an abundant amount of time work and effort into his plan. He recruited many of the finest politicians who have a great amount of background knowledge on healthcare, and many others that are purely rich with knowledge. During the dissemination of the healthcare reform concept, Obama was exposed to many negative sides of politics. He was also presented with many deal offers in regards to his healthcare proposition. Many of the the deals he did not feel needed to be made. Trying to get this healthcare act passed seemed to have become impenetrable. The issue became so controversial that 5 people were arrested at a Senate Finance Committee Hearing. Eventually, Obama realized that in order to make his way to the top, he must make some deals. In doing that, he began to receive criticism from many people, most of them being people who supported him during his presidency. Meanwhile, Obama is still trying to fulfill his many other promises he made to his country and is continuing to perform his tasks as President of the United …show more content…
The day of the election, Obama knew that the election results wouldn’t look as he wanted them to. He formed an emergency meeting to plan what his next steps would be. From being inches away from the passing of the healthcare bill, Obama now is trying to decide if it is even possible to find someway to get it passed. Essentially, Obama and his team feel like they have hit rock bottom. Most people, as well as President Obama, feel like this is his first presidential loss. He began with a small strategy. He basically began to take on republicans one by one, not necessarily by bullying them, but instead on informing them and making sure they know the facts and benefits of this plan. He then began to travel the country to promote the healthcare act. The bill was finally passed by all democrats. It was and still is such a victory for President Barack Obama.
