“It has been, and still is, a hard time for many. But tonight, we turn the page.” Presented on January 20,2015 President Barrack Obama gave America he’s yearly State Of The Union Address telling the country all that has been accomplished this past year and things that need more work. When looking at Obama’s speech he presented a lot of confidents on what has been accomplished and barely focus on the real issues. His confidents made the nation realize that everything is getting better and the worst of the problems are over.
In the Obama’s speech, he started it off by changing everyone’s perspective on the past year. He made it clear by saying, ”Fifteen years that dawned with terror touching our shores; that unfolded with a new generation fighting two long and costly wars…It has been, and still is, a hard time for many, But tonight, we turn the page (2).” He later added to the audience of America all the accomplishment that has happened about unemployment, student academics, and lowering gas prices. He also reminded the nation about the war in the Middle East saying, “Six years ago, nearly 180,000 American troops served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Today, fewer than 15,000 remain (6).” Obama mentioning the war made it clear that the war in the Middle East is ending and that loved ones in the army are coming home. The mood later shifted when Obama mentioned the newlywed couple of Rebekah and Ben Erler. He used this couple, as an example of what struggling families should be doing.…
