In her “Obama's Lonesome Ride to the Supreme Court”(2016), Jamie Stiehm suggest that President Obama is “seen as a show horse, not a workhorse“ Stiehm shows this by logos, “Obama spent little time cultivating allies in the Senate. Instead, he was on a national best-selling book tour.” Stiehm hopes to shift the reader's attention away from Obama, and say he is a bad president. Stiehm intended this article to be for the democratic party followers, she wants them to think, even though he is a show horse president, Hillary will not be.

Stiehm has democratic views so she isn't making fun of obama, but giving his constructive criticism. Stiehm wants to show even though Obama is a “show horse” he isn't a bad president. Stiehm claims, because Obama

He used the strategy of tone to his advantage by creating a sense of patriotism for this great nation that Republicans and Democrats need to work together to improve. He went further to explain that “It’s going to require all of us doing what’s right for the American people” (Obama, 2010, ln. 56) creating this sense that they have to all unite because nothing can be fixed if everyone does not actively come together. This immense sense of patriotism helped turn the Republicans’ minds away from which political party was more important, and towards how to conquer issues occurring in America…

President Obama’s Hypocrisy President Barack Hussein Obama is the forty fourth president of the United States elected in 2008 and he is the first president, under the constitution, of African descent. He worked his way up from the Illinois State Senate to the US Senate and was officially sworn in as president on January 20, 2009. Given his background in politics, logically, people assumed that he was a responsible, trustworthy candidate for president; however, his actions prove otherwise. His past work does not stand for his mental ability to run and decide for a country. Instead of his idea of “hope” and “change”, his presidency has brought the United States to the brink of ruin.…

I find this article to be frustrating to read, the article starts off by saying that people are worried that President Obama may not be "manly" enough to be the President of the United States because he is able to keep his "cool"; an element of his personality that is considered feminine. This is odd because just before this, the article states that staying calm is the sign of being a "good black"; but if Obama were to get upset, or more "manly", then he would be a "bad black". Either way, President Obama is not a good enough black President; even though, there is no standard for Obama to follow as he is the first African-American President. This double standard appeared again when speaking of former first lady, Hilary Clinton. Clinton…

“Would you do business with someone who routinely exaggerated his or her abilities?” states Diane Diamond to open her persuasive article “Earth to Donald Trump: Words Matter.” This question brings an immediate comparison to scamming or conning. In this article Diamond evaluates Donald Trump and his unconventional method of running for president. As readers we see the authors take on this specific point in the third paragraph as she mocks Trump by calling his campaign the “I’m-bigger-and-smarter-and-stronger-and-richer-than-everyone-else” campaign.…

References to how well Obama has done in office fulfill one of the goals of the State of The Union Address, to show that the President’s role is important to the legislative process. Throughout the State of The Union Address President Obama uses his personal accomplishments to build himself, so that he will seem credible as a president. One example of this is when he says, “I have no more campaigns to run. I know because I won both of them.”…

It attempts to tell Obama why she thinks he’s a better candidate than his opponent, Hillary Clinton. Morrison uses figurative language and rhetorical devices to prove her point. ¨...truely think of his country's citizens as ¨we,¨ not ¨they¨ ... ¨ She states thus because she feels Obama sees the problem as a whole not just a state nor the country.…

The Democratic National Committee invited Barack Obama to give the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic Convention. This news came as a surprise as Obama had not yet gained national attention, and was not an obvious choice when compared to other candidates. After his inspiring speech however, Obama became well known throughout America which was good news for John Kerry, as Obama’s speech was intended to persuade voters to support Kerry as president. Obama uses rhetorical devices such as climax in structure, epistrophe, and metonymy to persuade skeptical voters to vote for John Kerry as their next president. Obama makes his speech more convincing by using climax to split his speech into multiple sections; the first section is used…
