President Obama’s Hypocrisy President Barack Hussein Obama is the forty fourth president of the United States elected in 2008 and he is the first president, under the constitution, of African descent. He worked his way up from the Illinois State Senate to the US Senate and was officially sworn in as president on January 20, 2009. Given his background in politics, logically, people assumed that he was a responsible, trustworthy candidate for president; however, his actions prove otherwise. His past work does not stand for his mental ability to run and decide for a country. Instead of his idea of “hope” and “change”, his presidency has brought the United States to the brink of ruin.…

Americans can agree that the majority of U.S. citizens are not thoroughly involved in politics and presidential elections because they don’t really give a damn. The movie Election (1999) portrays everything that is wrong and ridiculous in the American political system. The film says that most of the American values in politics are rigged because when it comes to elections, the candidates chosen aren’t always the ones with the best intentions. Instead, the winner is the one willing to go lengths to get everyone’s personal approval and go beyond just for show.…

Barack Obama was the only man of color in a place where he worked. According to the book “The Size of Others' Burdens: Barack Obama, Jane Addams, and the Politics of Helping Others” by Erik Schneiderhan , and Schneiderhan Erik. Obama had a hunger to help the world in one way or another, he wanted this world to be different. For me the term, "It's morning in America" means a dawn in the heart of a man who wants to help the world in one way or another. Every day we face the obstacles and barriers that the world presents us, which in sometimes those obstacles or barriers prevent us to start putting in practice our dreams.…

Fear of a Black President In reading the article “Fear of a Black President” a thought which kept popping into my head was how I felt that Barack Obama was under more pressure and scrutinized than any other president in the recent past. I think that for him and for other African Americans, whether they agree with his views or not, Obama being elected president was an epic event. From a historical perspective it was a monumental day in United States history, an event that will written about for ages. “Immigrants: we get the job done,” This is one of the most loved and perhaps the most hated line from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s broadway hit Hamilton. While the song titled Yorktown (The World Turned Upside Down), is talking about the emotions faced by key founding members of our country, they specifically highlight Marquis de Lafayette. Lafayette was a French citizen however, several individuals, (including the state of Maryland) considered him to be a United States citizen, as he shared many of the common values our founding fathers did. While this specifically relates to Marquis de Lafayette, we can see the same debate being applied to illegal immigrants today. This is especially true in Mark Krioriakain’s essay “DREAM on”, where he highlights…
