The Department of Justice is handing over documents to Congress related to the Obama-era "Fast and Furious" scandal, according to The Hill.

The Obama administration refused to hand over the document for years, but now congressional lawmakers have the tools required to bring charges forward.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Wednesday that the department reached an agreement with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee after a six year battle in court over the documents.

The Obama administration refused to hand over any documents involving the scandal, which resulted in the House of Representatives holding former former Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress in 2012.
