Obadiah reveals the wickedness of the Edomites and proclaims God’s judgement on them.
“In that day,” declares the LORD, “will I not destroy the wise men of Edom, those of understanding in the mountains of Esau? (1:8)
Verses 10-14 Obadiah says that the Edom should have acted like a brother who would stand for the Israel. (Esau is the ancestor of the Edom and Jacob is the ancestor of Israel. )
Because of the violence against your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame; you will be destroyed forever.
