Future Strategy The current social media strategy for Movember Canada, as detailed above, is sufficient in its entirety; however, the organization can benefit greatly by making minor changes to its existing social media pages (i.e. Facebook and Twitter) and developing a national Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest profile. The inconsistent and decreased content posted on Facebook and Twitter translates to a decreased pledge interactivity with the foundations and a loss of opportunity in terms of recruiting new pledges through the foundation’s social media profiles. Additionally, by building a strong online presence through consistent content-based posts the national branch of Movember Foundation can increase its donors and participants.…

In sixth grade, I wanted nothing more than to make Lusher’s middle school flag football team. I had dreamed of being on the team from the very first day I heard about it; all of my friends were trying out with me; and we had grand plans for a year of non-contact, semi-athletic exertion ahead of us. Having been anxiously awaiting the lunch period when the team roster would be revealed, I was thusly dismayed, disappointed, and disheartened when my name was not one of the eighteen posted on the PE office door. My mother, in all her eternal wisdom, saw a way out of the pit of despair I had sunk into: Lusher was starting an Academic Games team, and she thought I might enjoy playing. I was more than somewhat hesitant; she was more than somewhat…

When talking to the staff at Cradles to Crayons about their views on strengths and areas of improvement for the organization they all targeted the volunteers. When asking about this with them they had discussed their frustrations with volunteers who come in and do not give the effort that we expect and in repercussion, we spend more time redoing and fixing mistakes at every time. When looking at this from an intern’s perspective, I see this as a lack of effort but instead a lack of coaching by the group leaders. I say this because at Cradles to Cradles we have volunteers come into the facility on a daily basis and with this, we have a number of different activity’s that we can set up for them to help us meet the organizational goals. As part…

FYD has just 25% of repeat donors at the moment, and they do not have any feedback system or process in place to identify why the balance 75% of donors have left after their initial donations. If FYD has a proper feedback system in place to address this issue, to find causes and implement solutions, then FYD will be able to ensure more repeat donations and increase donor retention. Requesting donations from those who have already contributed is much easier and cost effective than finding new donors. FYD should focus on Donor Retention just as much as or even more so than Donor Acquisition. “If the importance of donor retention isn’t woven into your nonprofit’s culture, if creating deeper donor relationships isn’t as automatic as you checking email in the morning, if it’s not a top priority, you will never get better at fundraising”…
