Statin’s claim was that organic food farms were as efficient as industrial agriculture; however, food farms were more competent and solicitous. The rhetorical appeal that could seen mainly throughout the video was Logos, because of the usage of reasoning and facts to support his claim. Evidence used to support this was when Statin argued that having cows out in grass fields allows for easier harvests and fertilization. It also gave the cows a source of natural food, as they are herbivores. Another piece of evidence that supports the presence of this rhetorical appeal was Statin arguing that the chickens from his farm had 130 CFUs compared to the store bought chickens which clocked in at around 3600 CFUs.…

Why would I ever want to be healthy?" Some, nonetheless, walk through the aisle, picking up these overpriced products that claim to allegedly be free of artificial flavors and genetically modified chemicals; products that claim to be unlike those found in the other ten aisles of the supermarket. New York University professor Marion Nestle, Ph.D, M.P.H. says organics have always been about the environment and, “The only reason for organics to be about nutrition is marketing” (Radcliffe). All in all, there’s not enough evidence showing organic foods are healthier for you than conventional foods. Although organic foods do have less synthetic pesticide residue and more vitamins and minerals, the difference is minimal and the health benefits are negligible. Research also suggests organic crops could have more natural toxins that could be more harmful than conventional crops. Marketing has made organics about nutrition, when studies have shown the health benefits are virtually…

He asserts “the fact that better food — measured by taste or nutritional quality (which often correspond) — costs more, because it has been grown or raised less intensively and with more care. ”(Pollan 23). According to The Rationalization and Persistence of Organic Food beliefs in the Face of Contrary Evidence by Olson, Erik L, the authors disprove Pollan’s claim through a content analysis of 710 reader responses for a Stanford study, which objective was to examine the ‘pro-organic’ and ‘organic-skeptic’ reader comments and determine the personal impact of organic food consumption, as well as the environmental impact of organic food production. The exposure of a Stanford University meta-analysis, which concludes that organically produced foods do not offer any significant nutritional advantages, as opposed to, conventionally produced food completely refutes Pollen’s claim. The study proves that just because a food has the label “organic” on it does not mean it is significantly “healthier”.…

Katz established that “Organic food is neither more nutritious nor any less prone to bacterial contamination than corresponding, conventionally grown food” (2012). The truth is that going organic may be the good option because the food contains less chemical sprays traces; but it is not completely free of these, neither they are necessarily more nutritive than conventional.
