My Nutrition Diary

According to nutritiondata.com, I was recommended to eat 2,369 calories a day. I did not meet my recommended calorie count on any of the three days I recorded, which means I also did not meet my estimated daily energy expenditure. I believe I did not meet my recommendations because I held a belief that 2,000 calories should be a limit to your food intake. However, in my case, the website says eating 2,369 calories a day would maintain my current weight.
On Day 1 (13 October), I met all macronutrient (carbohydrates, fats and protein) ranges. One thing that I noticed was that I went over my recommended range for fat by 7.1%. On this day, I had fat in every meal. On Day 2 (14 October), I met all macronutrient ranges; this came as a surprise to me as I ate the least amount of calories this day. On Day 3 (25 October), I met all macronutrient ranges, except protein; this was also another surprise since I ate the most amount of calories this day. Ironically, the day with the best distribution was Day 2.

My father tends to cook meals, but considering how busy he was we ordered pizza that would last us two days. On Day 3, I attend modelling classes with my sister in Sacramento from 12-3pm. Normally I hold off my hunger until I get home to eat (which isn’t until 5pm because of traffic), but my sister began complaining for food so we went out. Another point I can make is that because I knew I had to record my food intake for this project, I held myself back on eating. But it doesn’t mean I didn’t want to tell you want I ate, it was more like I didn’t want to hassle and confuse myself with food servings and how much I ate. So basically I made it as easy as possible for myself to work with the

I had already eaten over the target goal for added sugars by the end of lunch. The vegetable chicken noodle soup is what really sent my sodium levels over the top. With the two cups of soup that I consumed, I also put over 1500 mg of sodium into my body. I would not have thought that soup would have such a high sodium content. Additionally, my nutrients report said that I 35% of my consumed calories were from fat.…

I consumed 86% which is a decent amount. But, in order for me to consume the total 100% for this mineral, taking a daily multivitamin would fulfill that or consuming more dark-leafy vegetables along with beans would increase my intake for iron. Folate: For this vitamin, I consumed 145.54 ug of folate and the DRI recommends 400 ug of this per day. I only got 36% of the daily amount recommended for me which is definitely low. So, in order to increase my intake of folate, obviously a multivitamin would help a lot but some foods rich in folate include asparagus, broccoli, citrus fruits, avocado and brussel sprouts.…

On day 1, I was on target where as on days 2 and 3, I was below average. This can be attributed to the fact that only on day 1 did I eat lunch and dinner. However, although my iron was low due to a lack of protein in my diet, I had a consistent amount of iron. To raise my amount of…

I started this food diary during the beginning of Fall Semester, so I was busy preparing for school and getting organized in all my classes. I failed to take time going to the grocery store and stock up on food and instead would go every other day to get what I felt like eating that day. Due to this, I ate out at fast food more frequently than normal because it was convenient to my schedule. That being said, I would skip a meal or not snack at all because of my schedule, when on a normal week I cherish breakfast, lunch and dinner time. Meal planning was the least of my concern this week so that hindered my eating pattern significantly.…

This means this is something that I did not consume enough of. It was mostly in the Honey bun I ate on Day 1. Did your total fat intake equal about 25-30% of your total calorie intake for the day, with saturated fats accounting for no more than 7% of the total fat intake? My total fat intake did not equal about 25% - 30% of my total calorie intake for the day. My total fat intake for October 20 was only 24% of my total calorie intake. I was actually quite surprised that I did not make the recommended amount for this day. I clearly ate foods that were high in fat such as avocado and peanut butter, but I still did not manage to make the daily recommended amount of fat indicated by my DRI.…
