My main focus was to lose weight within a healthy amount of time.
In the beginning of the semester, we took a quiz to rate our diets. The diet quiz revealed that I am a "Diet Decision Maker". In general, this meant that I am aware of healthier food items and I generally choose to eat them, but I do indulge in a few unhealthy things every now and then. I am a healthcare professional, so I deal with nutrition on a daily basis. I try to make health conscious decisions in my everyday life, but I sometimes seem to fall short. The results from the quiz mentioned that moderation is the key to success and I could not agree more. Too much of anything can be harmful and when I get really hungry I tend to over do it. I found my results from the quiz to be extremely accurate, so I was not surprised at the results that I received. To improve my score I planned to eat healthier foods on a more consistent basis. I made a commitment to myself to attempt to cook more because sometimes the most convenient things are not the healthiest or least expensive.

High levels of sodium from fries, sodas or enriched meat products will increase your blood pressure, which can also increase the risk of heart attack or stroke over time. As the cardiovascular system is weakened it can be difficult to perform physical activities that will allows one to maintain his or her health.
