Nursing Student Preceptee

Decent Essays
Mary,

It is crazy how much information we can acquire in such a short period of time. I am glad that you have gone from being a student to now being the preceptor. Do you find it difficult if you notice unsafe or questionable actions by your preceptee? I found an interesting topic online addressing this uncomfortable situation. According to Anthony (2015), it can be difficult to address situations when a preceptee exhibits unsafe actions in nursing, especially when it comes to a nursing student. Have you ever had to deal with this type of situation? Did you talk to the student's nursing instructor or your nursing manager? I am sure you feel great when your preceptee learns from you and accells.

First, is joining a professional Association, second is becoming aware of health policy, and thirdly is getting involved in health policy. Without these three, the Nurse Practitioner is practicing on a basic level and is not able to truly succeed at the professional level. The first action is to join a professional organization like the TNA, if you are not already a member. Membership is vital for the Nurse Practitioner to stay informed on the present health issues and also to allow for networking among professionals.…
