Nursing leaders need encourage team involvement such as updated nursing education, skill competencies, stress management, professionalism, ethical practices, and team building. Patient care should be based on the universal principles of beneficence, justice and autonomy. I believe that patients are in fear of the unknown. Most patients trust the professional to guide them in the right direction which includes care, medication management, and education. I believe family is of vital importance for the continuation of care. Family involvement is needed to assist the patient in spiritual healing. Family’s role in patient care such as a hands on approach can guide the patients towards the next steps to recovery. I believe obtaining a degree in a unique setting as a Christian based school will provide the steps need to full fill such goals for optimal patient care. I have cared for the elderly for twelve years which included providing the best optimal care and comfort towards the end stages of death. I want to explore a new venture which I feel was my calling in the beginning. That is to care for the weak, protect the young and provide a safe haven centered on family, education, and love.
