Nursing Self Assessment Paper

My first thoughts with this paper was, I am not sure what I am suppose to do with the assignment of assessment. I sat down and contemplated the subject of assessment. Several thoughts came up for me. Assessment is such a broad topic, where should I start? Am I supposed to write on assessment in nursing or assessment of myself? I decided to assess where I am in this process.

What attitudes, characteristics, experiences, strengths, beliefs, and weakness do I possess? How will these things impact my project? I do have experience in business and nursing. Both of these backgrounds will give me an advantage in putting together this project. I am a self-starter; my style is getting to work right away. Although the instructor recommended a slower process of planning instead of doing this quarter, this will be a new learning process for me.

I read the assigned project management article. It pointed out how other people’s agendas encroach on your idea. This is an area where I can definitely improve. I try to please everyone, including myself and allow others to graft their goals onto my project. Quickly identify when the line is cross will be beneficial to me both in the workplace and at home. Once distinguishing ‘creep’ developing the finesse to distinguish the boundaries and maintain good relations.

Continuing with self-assessment I know that nursing has refined my skills of prioritizing and organizing. One of the proficiency necessary in nursing to clarify and emphasize concerns in reporting to other medical staff, formulating the day so crucial matters are attended to promptly, defining critical verses minor issues, and identifying and listening to your own internal perception of what is happening with the patient and
