The second module revised on the ATI website was Nursing Logic. Under this module, there were four required units. The four units were, knowledge and clinical judgment, nursing concepts, priority setting frameworks, and testing and remediation. These units provided rich explanations to nursing students on how to gain knowledge and obtain the necessary clinical judgment, the importance of prioritizing, and the values of testing and remediation during nursing school. Unit one discussed what knowledge is and how to obtain it. Additionally, this unit stated that the ATI’s helix of success serves as guidance for knowledge and clinical judgment which are the base for success in the nursing practice. Testing is a required item that proves someone’s minimal knowledge and shows areas of strength and weakness that must be assessed. Remediation is designed to address areas of deficiency and its goal is to increase the students level of knowledge and competence. This unit also went over stragedies on how to read the material prior tests; the student must skim the chapter, highlight important information, ask and answer questions and think through the material while reading it. Moreover, the student sometime may feel overwhelmed by the quantity of novel information shown. Therefore, the student must break down the content into smaller units and not get discouraged. To finalize, this unit described the two components of a test; the stem which is the beginning of the question and the options which are the possible answers for it. The stem have the scenario, which is the data you need to answer the question correctly. There are three types of questions; positivetly worded, negatively worded and priority setting. The student must be able to recognize which question is being presented in order to chose the correct answer. There are key words on the question that if identified can guide the person to the correct answer as well. The student must know that after all knowledge is the base of success. It does not matter if the student possess good testing skills, without thre proper knowledge success is hardly achieved. Added to the closing of this unit, NCLEX, which is the compuratized examination that a graduate student must take. was mentioned along with the types of questions that are found on it. Questions such as drag and drop, hot spot with images, chart and exhibit items, graphic images (pictures of positions), mathematical skills, and audio format will appear on the NCLEX.
