Most nurses I worked with varies in the way they handle things. Some are very “by the book” and just do things as it is on the medical records, some way things out and do what’s best and some are full of compassion in the way they’re taking care of their patients. I think the latter is my best character. I am compassionate.
I remember having to take care of a 400 pound female patient who was very irate and nasty to everyone. Most nursing assistants at the facility I worked before, didn’t want to go to her room and just left her call lights on for almost an hour. When I had her, as soon as I entered her door, she yelled at me and complained just about anything she could complain about. We should always be committed to learning something new. Healthcare information is adding up every single day and whether we like it or not, we need to adapt and learn the new things. New information regarding healthcare enhances our skills as a nurse, helps us manage our job better, enable us to help patient properly and safely. New technological advancements helps us document more easily unlike years ago, most of our time are spent writing down ton of notes in the patient charts.
