It started with this class and will continue throughout my career. Certain features are common in all professions. Nurses have particular traits that are distinctive to the profession. These characteristics are being knowledgeable in the area of practice and demonstrating certain personal qualities, behaviors and actions. The clinical experience I received this semester has conveyed plentiful knowledge in the fields of maternity and pediatrics. As I progress through this program, each semester will increase and develop my baseline knowledge. Continuing education can be acquired through journal readings, attending workshops, seminars and conferences. Being open to new knowledge and new ideas is crucial to professional growth. I plan to learn and listen more carefully at the work of my colleagues, other professionals and patients.
