The history of nursing has impacted my individual practice through many different ways. When I look at nursing as individual based, I have and am learning and gaining knowledge from ever nurse that I interact with. I have been able to learn new skills, techniques and pick up on small patient cues that other nurses have learned through their personal experience. This has changed the way that I care for my patients, by allowing me to provide, recognize and treat them with better care. When I look at nursing and the reasons why nurses do what they do, I feel that the goal has remained the same, which is caring for those in need of help (Blais, 2016).
