I began working in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in 2009 at the 12-bed ICU of UCSD-Thornton Hospital. I had the privilege to work with a team who could handle the most complex patient situations. This is where I got to spend more time interacting with CRNAs on a daily basis. And I fell in love with the profession even more! I want to become one of them: highly skillful, autonomous, intelligent Advanced Practice Nurses who have the ability to combine the science and the art of nursing on a higher level and function with great precision in a highly dynamic environment. I want to learn a great deal of scientific background and technical competence to administer anesthesia safely. I would like to learn the art of gaining my patients’ trust and make them feel less worried about their anesthesia experience and pain
