Since the beginning of my freshmen year, I have been actively involved in conducting research through an undergraduate research program called ReBUILDetroit at the University of Detroit Mercy. My research mainly concentrates on nursing and social sciences. For my first research, I conducted a mix methods research focusing on how nurses are perceived as scientists and researchers by different cultural groups. Our study participants consisted of citizens living in China, Kenya, to Canada, and more. For time purposes, I concluded that the Chinese population perceived one’s level of education and intelligence based on appearances, attire, gender, and age. The increasing diversity in the health care field requires healthcare providers to understand different culture groups and their opinions regarding their health care providers. This research can lead to more enhanced methods for patient education when I work with patients from different cultural
