Nursing Observation Paper

Today I went to my last site at the Women Infant Pavilion, which was couplet care. One of the first things I did was put pillowcases on four pillows. Next the nurse showed me where they keep the blankets, which was handy because later on she would ask me to get her some blankets.
After I helped her make a bed, we went to the nutrition room where she filled up her cart with ice and water. We also went to the supply room to get gloves so that when we went to each room and ask if they needed anything, we could also restock the gloves. I didn’t actually get the opportunity to see many babies because I spent the remainder of my time taking trays of food back to the nutrition room, but I felt helpful because I actually did something productive.

With health as our main issue, my service group traveled to the DC Diaper Bank on Tuesday, November 17, to get a glimpse of what the organization was about. We were welcomed with open arms, and shown an informational film about the non-profit. The organization is similar to a food pantry, but instead they focus on diapers, and infant needs. The four of us were placed at the last four volunteer stations, as the non-profit was not in an active search for volunteers. Our first job was to wrap sets of twenty-five diapers in saran wrap, according to their size.…

Journal 2 This week I was able to do a small site visit when I turned in my paperwork. Unfortunately, I was not able to see where they kept the children because my background check and other important information had not yet been processed, but I was still able to get a good idea of what volunteering at the St. Louis Crisis Nursery will be like. When I first pulled up, I was very surprised at the building the nursery was in. I was expecting a fun environment which would be filled with toys scattered around in the grass and playground equipment. However, the building was old and the neighborhood was not in a better part of town which surprised me.…

The role of driving force is to push someone to a desired direction to cause change to take place. The driving force actualizes the patient to act in a desired manner and direction which is intended leading to a shift in the equilibrium to cause change. On the other hand, restraining forces counters the driving forces to hinder the change hence forcing the patient to reciprocate to an opposite direction. Restraining forces like driving forces, causes a shift in the equilibrium although this type of force causes the patient to change in the opposite direction (Shirey, 2013). Equilibrium on the other hand, is a state where restraining forces balances the driving forces leading to no change on the patient.…
