She wanted the room to be kept clean and free of clutter. She wanted the patient to be comfortable in their environment and kept clean themselves as she felt it helped their healing process.We as nurses have an ethical duty to our patients to give them the best care we can. All patients deserved to be treated equal and not to be neglected. As nurses, we not only want to make our patients better, but we want to give them holistic care by making sure that they are conformable, safe, and cared for in the best possible way. We as nurses have guidelines that we need to follow according to the Nurses Practice Act and each hospital has policies and procedures we need to follow or our license could be suspended or revoked. There is stress put on them, especially if their loved one is going to be going home soon and need to be taken care of by them. We need to, as nurses, make sure to talk with the family and see how they are doing. If care is needed at home, we need to make sure they have the proper instructions to give their loved ones the proper care. It is important to have them demonstrate back what they need to do, such as changing a dressing. We need to make sure if they need someone to talk to, we are there for them or we can get them support from another source.
Fellow Healthcare Provider It is important to get along with other healthcare providers that we work with, as we are a team and it takes a cohesive team to provide the best care possible. If team members are not getting along, it could cause tension, not only for the workers, but the patients too, and that affects patient care. If we see a nurse, doctor, or another co-worker not doing what they are suppose to do, we need to talk with them or report them to a supervisor if it is unethical. Working together provides the best care for the patient and the best
