I agree that the nursing is a changing and dynamic field. Recently, my cousin who has been an RN for over 20 years decided to change her specialty. In her orientation they spoke heavily on nurses using research and evidence-based practice. She explained to me that this was something new to her. It opened her eyes to a new way of looking at research and the field of nursing and patient care. It also made me aware that as RN's it is our duty to stay up to date in regards to advances that happen in our field. Through the nurse educator on the unit she said she has learned so many new ways of performing procedures, and new information that's renewed her interest in continuing her education.
