Kasey doesn’t care about her patient and therefore does what she feels is right. Patients are not safe during the shift of the respondent because she works under the influence of drugs. She deliberately neglects the patients/clients who require adequate and quality care. Her actions can lead to a chronic or serious condition if they are not cared for properly. Also, her interpersonal behaviors provided in nursing care where inappropriate. This can cause emotional stress for the client/ patient and their family member. Kasey’s decision would be under the influence of drug as said earlier. Russell, (2012) said the practice of nursing involves behavior, attitude, judgement, physical and sensory capabilities in the applications of knowledge, skills and abilities for the benefit of the client. Fraud and deceit of license was her legal malpractice. She lied when filling out the form to renew her license. She answered the questions she ought to answer as YES to be NO. Additionally, she violated ethical guidelines of the profession. According to America Nurses Association, (2016) ethical practice impact patient safety and quality of care. Equally, judgement, behavior, and skills are needed and are part of ethical practice. Kasey violated all these practice. She uses unsafe judgement in treating and taking care of clients. She also neglect and abandon patients/clients, and their family, rather, she slept on patient’s bed during her shift.
