Nursing Interventions And Strategies That Promote Positive Relationships And Reduce Family Stressors

Within a family and community there will always be different kinds of energy whether it be positive or negative; individuals should work through the stressors and embrace the support that is received. The purpose of this paper is to build a genogram for a specific family and distinguish its interfamilial relationships as well as their external support systems and stressors. I will go on to identify nursing interventions and strategies that promote positive relationships and reduce family stressors. Utilizing a genogram and ecomap together is highly effective in showing families a clear picture of supportive or unsupportive relationships that may occur within a family system (Kaakinen, Coehlo,Steele, Tabacco, & Hanson, 2015). During the interview, I discovered that Eckelberry family consisted of a husband, wife, and three children. Mike and Deanna are in their early to mid-50s; Mike works full-time on the family farm and Deanna assist on the farm but also works part-time at a grocery store.
