These are statements that assist advanced practice nurses (APN) to delineate where they aspire to be or what they aspirations to accomplish within a time-frame, they bestow guidance and direction to the APN in the career to furnish ultimate patients’ care and growth. Goals are habitually denoted as short-term and long-term goals are contingent on the period they are set to be attained. Effective goals should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART) (Massachusetts Institute of Technology Human Resources, n.d; Ellis & Hartley, 2012). Joining the state of Georgia APN will provide me the knowledge related to the state physician collaboration, policy, advocacy process, and nursing reforms so that I can participate to advocate and lobby for the community in need and the voice for the voiceless with the vast comprehension acquired. Be part of the working Georgia advance practice nurses association that participate in leadership seminars and support evidence-based ways to advance practices and workflow. Aquaring added knowledge of adult-gerontology certificate and the DNP in education will provide me the tools needed to eventually market my aspiring potential healthcare business “Bringing Healthcare Home” that provide overall holistic care to patients and families in homes, personal care homes, etc, tailoring nursing care according to individuals age, gender, cultural beliefs and available resources.
