1) The evaluation asks three questions:
a) To what degree was the overall program goal met (in the case of our example, to what degree was risk reduced)?
We have made great strides in improving the process of representing the University of Louisville as caseworkers for the Red Cross. Since this was the Pilot study for the community project, we have set the foundation for those that follow us in providing the victims of a disaster the assistance they need so they are more readily capable to carry out their process of recovery.
b) How did the program /project work to meet the overall program goal?
i) Of course the program may have its own specific outcome objectives (if it’s a teaching project) those should be addressed as well.
Communication between the University of Louisville and the Red Cross was crucial in establishing the framework necessary to handle the responsibilities of a student and fulfill your duties as a case manager. Both the School of Nursing and the Red Cross collaborated to manage the workload for the students so that the duties we must partake in would not be cumbersome enough to hinder our educational performance and they did …show more content…
During the first community semester – the students can be trained on how to work CAS, work on their modules, become volunteer compliant during the first half of the semester. Then the students should be assigned a few cases much like the layout of this pilot course. Then during the second semester of our community clinical, the students could have a refresher orientation course on how to work CAS, be reinforced on the rules they must abide by, and meet there managers once again. Following the introductory phase of the course, they would be assigned a number of cases to be followed up on throughout the semester greater than the one before
