This is a quote by Pete Hamill stating how important and valued nurses are to society. A nurses duty is to educate patients and the public of the various health condition and how they can be treated. They do this by assessing patients conditions, giving medicines and treatments, operating medical equipment, and help performing diagnostics tests (“Bureau of Labor Statistics”). Pursuing a nursing career is a promising choice for one who wants to benefit society, get fantastic employment opportunities, and enjoy a competitive salary and benefit package. In the field of nursing, a nurse can always count on benefiting society. Going into a trade such as nursing means everyday you are impacting someone's life in some way. On a daily basis multiple times a day nurses are caring for patients by administering medications, medicines, and treatments that are vital to the patient's life. They also set up patient care plans or contribute to them improve the patient's life that ensures homeostasis with the patient.
