Ever since I was a young girl, I knew I wanted to care for and help people, so in the sixth grade, I decided on being a nurse for my lifelong profession. From there, I dedicated my life to becoming a nurse by taking DMACC's college nurse prerequisites in high school. It has brought me a new perspective about the world around me from listening to my residents who have come from all walks of life. My residents have given me valuable life advice about relationships between people, aging with humbleness, and just how to be an overall valuable citizen in society. However, it has also been one of my greatest privileges to serve my residents from giving them showers to feeding them. Likewise, making sure the people who cannot voice what they need and have limited mobility are comfortable, well-fed, and feel cared for. Equally, it is also important to me to help them transition from being a person who used to be totally independent to someone who needs a little extra help at their time in life.
