Nurses are bombarded daily with problems; they should be worrying how to care for their patients and providing the best care they can. Nurses should not have to worry about taking care of too many patients, will they be able to eat a meal or if they will be able to keep their license because they are having to do things that could be unsafe. Nurses need to be able to practice in a safe environment, where education and help is provided when needed and where they are appreciated. Employers need to provide the tools that nurses need to provide the care patients want and need to get well.

With technologies advancing every day, sometimes it is hard to keep up, but to provide the best care hospitals and nurses must learn to keep up with advancements. This means that now nurses must take time from their homes and families to learn these new technologies to be able to take care of the growing number of patients. They must learn new computer programs and be proficient to be able to continue with their employer’s requirements, healthcare technologies are rapidly changing and to provide the best patient-centered care they must be provided with the needed resources (Garrett, 2012). Burnout will happen if they are continually bombarded with too much work, patients and being pulled in too many different ways. Employers need to find ways to lighten this workload so they can keep nurses working and patients will receive the care they want, expect and need. If we do not provide nurses with the resources they need to be successful, then hospitals and other facilities will continually be short staffed, workers will be overworked and feel they are under appreciated and will look for places to work where they are appreciated and not under pressure to do tasks that they are not prepared to
